September 2021

🙋 Hi Everyone,

This month I have started uploading my personal Gallery to SCRAPBOOK.com's Gallery.  Since I began I have met several fabulous crating friends.  Last week the company aggressively changed the format and functionality of their Gallery.

Upon speaking to several of their gallery members I have concluded that the general consensus is that we all hate it.  This is too bad because I have noticed the activity has declined quite a bit.  Many members including myself have expressed to Scrapbook.com our displeasure.  I have yet to hear from them and have not seen any repairs to the functions that are actually broken.

Hang in there crafters.  I still have hope they will get a clue and fix it.

So long for now.  😊

 September 2021

🙋 Hi Friends,

It's been a few months since I've been here.  I finished the Wedding Album and am now madly working on the Hawaii Scrapbooks, two of them.  I'm still making lots of cards and just finished my 2021 Christmas Collection.  This year I featured Graphic 45 on the collection.  You can see them below.

I've also done a few cards using rubber stamp images and coloring with alcohol ink pens like Copic, Tombow, and Prisma Color.  NEWS FLASH!!!!  I made an accidental discovery.  You can use "BIC Mark It" markers the same way you can any brand of alcohol pen and "BIC Mark It" markers are very inexpensive (see my comparison image below).  WOW!  WOW!  Really good way to save money and have the same result.

I no longer have my video studio. When I retired and moved into our smaller retirement house my craft room got downsized by 60%.  The studio was the first thing to go so,  if you are a novice at coloring and shading with alcohol inks, here is a link to a video that demonstrates the technique:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r3r9wnr3pQ

Make sure you book mark the link in your Web Browser so you can go back to it for repeated viewing.

So long for now.  Be back soon with some images of the Hawaii Scrapbook.

Thanks for visiting.  Carol😊

 ðŸ™‹May 2021

😊WOW!  Here we are a very long year after we were told of the pandemic.  I hope everyone is well and for those who lost loved ones, you are in our prayers.

So,  what did I do during this past year?  Well,  I made Christmas Cards, a Wedding Scrapbook, reorganized my craft room, downsized the volume of supplies I had on hand, bought custom covers for all my die cutting machines (all of them), bought a new computer and dual monitors,  learned some new art techniques and my current projects... a vacation scrapbook for my best friends Hawaii vacation, another Wedding scrapbook, and I'm finally starting on my own Disney Scrapbooks for the 12 vacations my husband and I took from 2000 through 2012.

Make sure you visit my website .  Thanks for visiting.

January 2020

🙋Happy New Year 2020!

Haven't been back here in awhile.  I've been busy retiring from my job and renovating our retirement home.  Just finished my craft room and unloading all of my craft supplies that have been in storage for the last two years.  I asked my husband if we could make the craft room a high priority to finish.  He is the greatest because my room is finished and the rest of the house is still a war zone. 🔨 Now I can start crafting again.

I had time in December to make some new Christmas Greeting Cards.  My favorite 2019 card is below.  You can see the rest on the website gallery "Featured Holiday" http://scrapbooks-n-more.com/page24.html  and don't forget to scour through the rest of the website.

I had so much fun doing these and was pleased to find my skills hadn't gotten rusty.

Hope you like the new designs.  Comments are appreciated.  Hope to be back soon with some new ideas.

Looking forward to a great year,  hope yours is filled with your hopes and dreams as well.

Thanks for visiting 😊

🙋Hello Friends,

Mousse or Gilding Polish

Have you eve been sitting at your work table with a new project in front of you thinking "I need to do something new."  And then you discover a new tool or new color product, or new embellishment that has been introduced.  Then you get excited about using these on your project and "WOW," you've created a new masterpiece.

That's what happened when I went to the last Scrapbooking EXPO.  I hadn't been in awhile and I was a little behind in keeping up with new products.  I discovered Gilding Polish or Mousse.  There are several
brands.  My favorites are Nuvo™ and Creative Expressions™ (includes an applicator).  The colors are vibrant, dense, easy to apply, blends easily and can be applied in various manners.

I've used mouse to color backgrounds, die cut wood embellishments, die cut and embossed  background pieces.  I use it for edge coloring, adding color to white silk flowers and much, much more.

Application:

  • Sponge
  • Finger
  • Paint Brush
  • Blending Brush
  • Dauber Sponges
Mousse Colored Flowers and Happy Birthday

Mousse Colored Snowflake

Mousse Colored Horses, Fence and Edge of Tag
  Check out YOU TUBE

I began Scrapbooking in 2008 purely by accident. You can read that story on the About Us Page.  Over the years I have developed more art skills and perfected more embellishment techniques to enhance not only the quality of my designs but add a broader array of ideas and art.  In the beginning I only used store bought embellishments, then I discovered Cricut® and Sizzix®.   Wow!  What a change that made.  So much so my partner invested in most of the Cricut® cartridges that were available at the time (2009).  You do the math. A lot Right?  Next came Silohuette®, Pazzles®, Sizzix® , the newer Cricuts® as they were released and the king of them all the Silver Bullitt 24 inch"®.  I have them all and I use them all for different materials.
Through the years I developed my art skills for coloring, painting, rubber stamping, adding textures such as foils, embossing powders, inks, mists and pastes.  I was so invested in this hobby we built a 12x22ft craft room lined with thirty one 6ft cabinets for supplies, 3 craft tables, 4 printers,  a touch smart computer, a photography studio, painting easel and an air hose system for airbrush painting.   Within 5 years I  had accumulated more craft supplies than Hobby Lobby or Michael's carries and was able to start my own business.

My specialty became one of a kind custom designed greeting cards and one of a kind packaged Christmas cards.  Last Christmas season I developed a Christmas card package of 6 unique designs per pack.  What a hit.  I sold out in 2 weeks.  My favorite task is scrapbooking.  I love hearing the stories that go with the pictures I  use to build the pages.

I have so much fun with paper crafting, I lose track of time.  I bet there are many of you who do the same if you love paper crafting.
